OPERATIONS AT WAIHi. GOOD ORE IN BORE HOLE. [Bx TELEGRAPH. OWN COXUtESPOVDENT.] WAIEI, Thursday. The following information has been cabled by the "Waihi Gold Mining Company to its head office. London:—No. 6 level, Martha lode, :nonh branch: Driving cast the next 85ft assays 43s 6d a ton. The lode is about 4ft wide. No. 6 level, No. 2 reef: Driving east the next 16ft assays C4a a ton. . The reef is about 2ft wide. No, 14 level, Edward lode: In the crosscut, at 103 ft south, the next 4ft assays 30s 3d a ton, and the nert 10ft 6s Sd a ton. Martha lode, south aeotion, east of No. 4 shaft crosscut: In the crosscut at 447 ft, the last 32ft is a mixture of quartz ana country, assaying Ss 9d a ton. Driving east has been recommenced, and the next 22ft assays 13a 3d a ton. No. 7, diamond drill: A hole has been bored horizontally south-east from the end of the Dun!op aouth-eagt crosscut, on the Edward lode at No. 14 level. At. 86ft the drill passed through 6ft of payable ore. It must be borne in mind that the ore obtained in diamond drilling is very small, and too much importance mugt not be attached to the above, as the drill may have passed through a rich spot.)
