PROMISING DAY'S OUTING.

Good entries have been received for the events at the forthcoming regatta, especially for the handicap single sculls, for which St. Clair and other notable oarsmen have entered. The number of amusements in the ■way of side-shows will constitute a record, •while the playing of n. pipe band should make the meeting attractive. An Auckland; rowing club wishes to enter a team to paddle a canoe against the Maoris. Some local pakshas aro going to try their skill with the paddle.
