THE AMERICANS' VISIT. SCHOLZ AND HAHN ARRIVE. j ■ FINAL DOMINION APPEARANCE. The American athletes, J. V. Scholz and Lloyd Hahn, arrived from Rotorua yesterday afternoon and' were met. at the railway station by several members of the Auckland Centre. Both runners trained at the Domain in preparation for their final New Zealand appearance to-morrow afternoon. Scholz will be a competitor in all the sprint events, and intends, if the weather conditions are suitable, to attempt to establish new records over 220 yds and 25byds. Iri both races Scholz will be opposed by several local sprinters. Hahn will also appear, .probably in the 440 yds and; one mile' handicaps. ' - ; , DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. J. W. SHIRLEY TO GO SOUTH. At the meeting of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association on Tuesday evening the honorary secrotary, Mr. W. Morton, suggested tb.iV at least three of the Auckland provincial champions, say J. W. Shirley, L. C. Williams, and M.'P. Byrnes, should be sent to Dunedin for the Dominion championship meeting. to be held on March 20. If v each member of the centre would subscribe £2 he w.as prepared to give £5. The suggestion was not accepted. However, members of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club decided yesterday to send J. W. Shirley, and the champion all-round jumper is to make the trip. Hopes of sending Williams and Byrnes have not been abandoned and if sufficient money can be secured by to-morrow, the provincial champions will go south'". THE AUCKLAND CLUB. HANDICAP AT DOMAIN. The Auckland Amateur Athletic Club held a 75yds handicap at the Domain last evening with the following results:— J. W. Shirley, 6yds, 1; L. T. Monteith, 2yds, 2; D. r. Deere, scr, 3. Won by a foot, with inches between second and third. Time, 8 l-5s PAPAKURA SPORTS. The Papakura athletic sports will be held on Easter Monday, April 5. The great event of the day will be the Papakura Cup, 120 3'ards, the prize-money being JE3O. Nominations close on Monday week. LAWN TENNIS. INTER-CLUB COMPETITION. TEAMS FOR B GRADE CONTESTS. Inter-club matches under the auspices of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association will be continued to-morrow. In the B grade, Parnell will play Onehunga a.t Stanley Street, Owing to the inability of Parnell to raise a C grade team Unity win the match by default. Teams are as follow: Onehunga.—G. L. Taylor.
