NORTHCOTE WOMEN.
ACTIVITIES OF THE LEAGUE.
The annual meeting of the Northcote Women's Progressive League was held yesterday afternoon. The president, Mrs D. P. O'Leary, congratulated the league upon the consummation of its greatest objective—the erection of the beautiful war memorial and unveiling by the Hon. J F. Rolleston, Minister of Defence, on February 14 last. On her motion it was decided to convey a special vote of thanks to the architects, Messrs. Grierson, Aimer f'.nd Draffin, who, without any remuneration, had given such a splendid and aitistic asset to Northcote, one that would stand for all time. The syllabus for the year was adopted. The election of officers resulted:— President: Miss Tremain; vice-presidents, Mesdames D. P. O'Leary and S. L. Boot; committee. Mesdames McLaughlin, Grant, Tonar, Loekie and Miss Couldrey; dele gates to National Council of Women, Mesdames Wood and Boot; secretary, Mrs. A. Taylor. Reference was made to the good work o f the past year's officers, and especially to the excellent work achieved by the league during the presidential term of Mrs. O'Leary,
