Shaw, was a visiter to the Manawatu meetinc and piloted Audubon Patch to victory in the Longburn Ha ndicap. The Northland Trotting Club holds its annual race meeting at Kensington Park, Whnngarei, to-morrow. The Northern Steamship Company's Mnnnia will leave for Wliangarei io-night at ton o'clock and the steamer is timed to leave Onerahi for Auckland to-morrow night after the arrival of the 7.40 train. There were a number of South Island horses competing at the Manawatu meeting, but Sea Pearl, who accounted for tho Manawatu Trotting Cup, was the only one to secure a stake. Sea Pearl is a four-year-old chestnut mare by Nelson Binsjen from Pearl Child and this was her first success this season. Among the runners in the Linton Handicap at Manawatu was a three-year-old trotter named Kempton. who is by Nelson Bincen from Pearl Pointer. 'Kempton started favourite, but failed to go kindly and missed a place. He is owned hv the Aahbvirton sportsman. Mr. H. F. Nscoll. Tho Auckland-owned pacer Jean Darling, who led the field home in the Presidents Handicap at Manawatu on Wednesday, has been racing consistently and has notched two wins, a second, and a third in her last five starts. Jenn Darling is an aged marc bv Wildmoor from a Grattan Abbey mars and is trained by A. Cameron. Dick Dillon has had a course of physic and is having a few days on the easy list. It is more than likely that he. and his stable-mate. Black Lila, will bo taken south to race at Addington at Easter. W. Kelsey has returned Stanley Dillon and Mulwaree to their owner*. The trajner named is keeping Dean Dillon and Ivean John moving, and should have them in good shape for the next meeting. Tho two full-sisters to Bettv Moko are among the regular brigade at Alexandra Park and do a fair amount of useful work. Like their relative, both are straightout trotter", but neither has yet shown a great amount of promise. •T. Shaw leaves for Whangaroi this morning with Kockburn and Peter McDonald. A. Newdick is also making the trip with Grey Peter. FORTHCOMING MEETINGS. HAWERA TROTTING CLUB. Nominations for all events to be decided at the Hawera Trotting Club's meeting on April 3 and 5 close to-niglit. at 8 o clock, with the secretary, Mr. E. P. Cox. Hawera.
