The cricket match between the Australian representative eleven which is to tour England and a Tasmanian team was continued at Launceston to-day. Australia in their first innings made 485 runs (Macartney 66, Taylor f 66, W.oodful 148, Andrews 48). Newton took four wickets for 96, and Allen two tor 51. Tasmania in their second innings scored 30 without loss. The bowling analysis in Tasmania's first innings wsts as followsMailey five wickets for 46 runs, Macartney three for 16, Gregory one for 16, Ryder one for 16.
SYDNEY BOWLING CARNIVAL. FINALS IN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 1. The finals in the bowling championships were played to-day. In the singles A. Oastler (Victoria) defeated A. Clarke (Victoria), 31 to 19. In the rink championship South Australia defeated ,New South Wales, 26 to 19. The singles rnatoh was brilliantly contested and excellent bowling was witnessed in every head. The bowling in the rink final was mediocre. RECORD POLE VAULT. NORWEGIAN'S PERFORMANCE. Reuter. NEW YORK, Feb. 28. Charley Hoff, the Norwegian athlete, established a new world's indoor record pole vault at Baltimore, by clearing the bar at a height of 13ft. 5 l-Bin.
