ATTEMPTED MURDER CASE.

CHARGE AGAINST HUSBAND.

REQUEST FOR BAIL REFUSED.

An application for bail was' made in the Police Court yesterday by Mr. A. Moody, on behalf of Frederick George Mays, charged with attempting to murder his wife.

Chief-Detective Cummings said the circumstances were serious. It was alleged that accused had attempted to shoot his wife.

Tho magistrate, Mr. Poynton, refused the application and accused was remanded in custody for another week.
