MEN'S FAMILIES DESTITUTE. EVIL OF SHIPPING TROUBLE. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Feb. 26. Mr. Havelock Wilson, president of the British Sailors' and Union, has instituted an appeal for help for the dependants of the seamen who were concerned in the recent shipping strike, especially those who left their ships a| Dominion ports. As a result of. the strike over 5000 families have;, been deprived of their means of support. Mr. Wilson asserts that the strikers at Sydney were assured by the local Labour unions that funds would be provided for their wives and families, but many of these wives and children were still without support. The committee of King George's Fund has given £4OOO and Seamen's Union £IOOO toward the relief of the people affectefll.
