BROADCASTING.
Sir,—l am sure "A.C.L.'" did not mean to be ungrateful to the many artist:; who have given of their time and talent toward the upkeep of a broadcasting service in Auckland. Listeners generally are very grateful to these ladies and gentlemen. But listeners, for good and sufficient reasons, are disgusted that the;,' should still be receiving a badly-arranged voluntary service only, when long before this time they should have had comprehensive programmes of news, interest, novelty, music and entertainment. The fault lies, not in the present entertainers, who are to be thanked for their generosity, but in the policy of the new company in saving money on programmes when every conceivable effort-should be made by them to lift, broadcasting out of the slough of despond into which it has unfortunately fallen.
