THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
RETURN TO AUCKLAND.
The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusnon- returned to Auckland on Saturday afternoon, travelling by tho Rotorua express from Hamilton. Their Excellencies had been away from Auckland since February 3, making an extensive tour of the eastcoast- and Waikato districts. At t-en o'clock this morning His Excellency will receive a visit from Captain J. Decoux, of the French sloop Oassdopee. A dinnsrin honour of Captain Decoux and his officers will be given at Government House this evening. Captain Yttriichi Yedahara, of the Japanese training ship I wate, will call upon the GovernorGeneral to-morrow morning and in the evening, with his officers, will be entertained at dinner at Government House.
His Excellency vili perform the opening ceremony of the new Arts: Building of the Auckland University College on Friday, March 12. On Saturday, March 20,, he will inspect the Auckland boy scouts.
His Excellency will pay an official visit to Palmerston North on March 29 and 30.
