AGRICULTURAL SHOWS.
THE KUMEU FIXTURE. RECORD ENTRIES OF STOCK. The Kumeu Agricultural and Horticultural Association's Show will be held on Saturday. Entries in the stock classes constitute a record, and the Jersey and Friesian breeds will be well represented. .Entries from as far north as Wejlsford have been received in the sheep classes, in which very keen competition is anticipated. Arrangements have been made for two bands to be in attendance. The Railway Department is issuing special excursion tickets, and the Whangarei express will stop at Kumeu on the northward journey, A baby show will also be held, the judging taking place in the Kumeu Hall during the afternoon. PROSPECTS AT ROTQRUA. INTERESTING COMPETITIONS. [Br TH'LEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] ROTORUA, "Wednesday. Tho executive of the Rotorua Agricultural and Pastoral show has made final arrangements for the annual fixture, which opens on Friday. Owing to the extraordinary nature of the season, field crops will not have their usual place of prominence, but this is offset by the specially fine general entries in the stock and hunters' divisions. The axemen's contests are expected to ho the great draw of the, show. Already there are a number of competitors in town and very keen interest is being taken in preparations for that series of events.
