the kereone settlers. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE AKOHA. Monday. Thtt chairman 1 of the Piako County Council, Mr. F. W. Walters, and the county engineer, Mr, Gibbs, met the soldier settlers of Kereone and the surrounding district to discuss the raising of a loan to .metal the roads. Several settlers outside the soldiers' settlement objected strenuously to the proposal. It was decided to raise a loan of £4OOO.
