WEDDINGS.

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mark's Church, Remnera, on December 22, between Sybil Beatrice, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Lamb, of Remuera, and Mr. Edgar Henry Fohningham, late of Christchurch. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Cruickshank. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of ivory silk, accordion pleated georgette, over ivory satin. Her train, of shell pink georgette, was caught on the left shoulder by a large pearl ornament, and was heavily embroidered with pearls and a deep band of white fox fur at the hem. Orange blossom was suspended by shell pink georgette ribbon from the right, shoulder. The bride's veil of silver embroidered tulle was held in place by a Juliet cap composed of pearls and orange blossoms, A shower bouquet of Christmas lilies and pink carnations completed the toilet. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Doris Lamb, wore powder blue silk georgette with pink and grey feather trimming, and a blue hat to match. Miss Doris Smith woro powder blue silk georgette prettily embroidered in grey with hat to match. Both bridesmaids carried shower bouquets of pale pink carnations, and white flowers, finished with large bows of blue tulle. Mr. J. Gavey, of Epsom, was best man, and the groomsman was Mr. I). Lamb, brother of the bride. A reception was held after the ceremony in St. Mark's Hall.

The Sacred Heart Chu'rch,- Ponsonby, was tho scene of a vcrv pretty wedding on Thursday morning, January 21, when Cyril Ernest Bowley, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bowley. of Gisborne, was united to Eileen Mary Powell, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Powell, of Ardmore Road, Heme Bay. The ceremony was followed by nuptial mass, Rev. Father O'Doherty officiating. Mr. .T. Powell, brother of the bride, acted as best man, and Mr. Syd. Murphy as groomsman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of cloth of silver with flared apron of heavy silver lace, the court train draped from right shoulder being cloth of silver lined with silver tissue and trimmed with orange blossoms. She wore an embroidered Brussels lace veil held by a wreath of orange blossoms, and silver rosebuds. iShe carried a shower bouquet of roses and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids were the Misses Mamie and Kathleen Mitchie, wearing frocks _ of shaded cyclamen pleated georgette, trimmed with silver. Their picture hats were of cyclamen tulle trimmed with silver flowers and streamers of tulle, and they carried bouquets of cyclamen tinted dahlias and gypsophila. Two little girls, the Misses Pat and Moira Walker, acted as flower girls, quaintly dressed in frocks of cyclamen pleated 'georgette, with petal tunicm of silver tissue, trimmed with silver roses. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Kiosk, Point Ercn Park, Alt. and Mrs. Bowley later left for a trip to Sydney.

The wedding was solemnised at St. Luke's Church,' Greytown, on Wednesday morning. January 20, of Mrs. Constance Humphries, daughter of Mr., and Sirs. S. Kcedweil, of Greytown, to Mr. Charles Walter Maxton, second son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Maxton. Miss Phyllis KccdweU was bridesmaid, and Mr. Allan Balfour best man, and the Rev. P. W. Stent the officiating minister. Mr. and Mrs. 0. YV. Maxton left later on their to tour north, and on their return will reside in Grey town.

The first wedding to be celebrated in St. John's Church, Avoca, Northern Wairoa, took place on Wednesday, January 20, when Miss Martha Langton, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Langton, of Tangowahine, was married to Mr. Dave N. O'Shea, second son of Mr. and Mrs. M O'Shea, of Maungakaramea, Whangarei. Mrs. A. J. Martin, of Dargaville, presided at the organ. After the ceremony nuptial mass was held. Rev. Father Jansen was the officiating priest. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white satin dress trimmed with pearls. She wore a Brussels lace veil and orange blossoms, and carried an ivory prayer book, the gift of her brother. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Cecilia Langton, sister of the bride, who wore an ivory satin frock trimmed with pink georgette, and a white hat. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. The second bridesmaid was Miss Susie Langton, sister of the bride, who was in a pink satin dress with blue trimmines. She wore a white hat and carried a bouquet of blue flowers.
