UNIVERSITY COLLEGE.
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. The Auckland University College council met yesterday, the president, the Hon. G. Fowlds, occupyhv / the chair. There were also present Professors H. W. Segar and F. P. Worley, Messrs. C. Rhodes, G. H. Wilson, T. U. Wells, S. I. Crookes, K. Mack;*>%-;c and A. Burns and the Rev. Dr. 11. Ranston. The Finance Committee was authorised to draw up a statement of the financial requirements of reforms suggested by the university commission. A letter was received from the Professor of Architecture, intimating that Mr. W. A. Gumming, lecturer ir"architecture, intended to resign as from the end of the academic year. The resignation was accepted with regret. Appreciation of the services rendered by Mr. Gumming was expressed by members of the council.
