LEAGUE TEAM'S TOUR.

THE VISIT TO ENGLAND.

SELECTING THE PLAYERS. ARRANGEMENTS FOR MATCHES. Important decisions were made at the New Zealand Rugby League's special conference in Wellington on Saturday in connection with the tour of a New Zealand team which leaves for England by the Tainui on July 15. Air. J. Carlaw presided over delegates from Auckland, South Auckland, Wellington, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Canterbury, Timaru and the West Coast. In accordance with the decision to appoint three selectors representing the North and South Islands, and the New Zealand League respectively, Mr. C. Hardingham (Christchurch) was appointed the South Island selector, and Mr. A. McClvmont (Auckland),, the North Island selector. The third selector has yet to be appointed. Six nominations were received for the position of financial manager and Mr. G. H. Ponder (Auckland) was chosen. Mr. E. H. Mair was appointed manager and official coach. As far as practicable each league will play every other league in the South Island and an A and B trial match for the South Island will follow. The team selected from this match will then travel North, playing at almost all North Island centres of the code, and finally at Auckland, where an A and B trial match will take place before the final selection of the team. Matches have been decided upon as follows :

South Island.—West Coast v. Otago, at West Coast; Canterbury v. South Canterbury, at Timaru; Canterbury v. Otago, at Dunedin; A and B trial match, at Christchurch. North Island.—South Island v. Wellington, Manawatu and Havvke's Bay, at Wellington ; South Auckland v. Auckland, at Hamilton, and return match, at Auckland; North v. South Island, at Auckland; A and B trial match, for filial selection, at Auckland.

A further meeting of the council will be held on Thursday to consider the tour.
