An enthusiastic lover of New Zealand is Colonel B. A. Blennerhassett, C.M.G., of tho Army and Navy Club, who is at prfesent staying at the Spa, Taupo. He has been v|sitipg New Zealand annually for many years, and states that for a quiet holiday and excellent fishing there is no place in tho world to equal the thermal regions of New Zealand.
He is an enthusiastic angler, but has not yet_ commenced fishing in . earnest, contending that the trout will'no£ be in a fit condition to suit .'the sport looked for by the true angler for another month at least. He took out his rod on Satur-day-and Whisked the Waikato River near the Spa for a couple of hours. Tire fisli did not rise freely, although many large trout were seen swimming lazily about. One trout was caught and provided good sport. It was a fine fish, in excellent condition, and weighed about eight pounds.
