NOTES FROM ELLERSLIE.

SATURDAY MORNING'S WORK.
All the work at Ellerslie on Saturday was done on the sand and the tan. the grass trucks being closed on account of the heavy soaldng they received during the week. THE SAND. Dress Circle strode along for four furlongs in 56 2-ssec. .Toy Ride and Gold Fern covered five furlongs in lmin 8 3-ssec. Merry Damon and Serang easily ran five furlongs in lmin 10 2-ssec. Musketoon and Right and Left went steadily over a round in 2min Jfisec. Knighthood encompassed a round in 2min Msec, being assisted over the last four furlongs by Marchawav. The last four took 57see. Alfort and Quinette placed seven furlongs behind in lmin 37 3-ssec. Appellant and Royal Present went five furlongs in lmin 9 2-ssec. Exactly was timed to run the last three of four furlongs in -11 3-ssec. Tactician covered the last five of six furlongs in lmin 8 4-ssec. King Merv moved freely over seven furlongs in lmin 37 4-asec. Piton and Dorinda went fivo furlongs in lmin 10 3-ssec. Killuto.and Daddy's Girl ran the last four of six furlongs in Sosce. Quinvardia and the Day Comet- Red Pino gelding spurted three furlongs in •15 l-ssec. Passionate did a strong round, running the last seven furlongs in lmin 41 2-ssec. Chairman and A. Robertson's Quin Abbey folding were timed to run four furlongs In 55sec. Prince Abbey went five furlongs in lmin lOsec. Town Bank worked soundly over a distance on tho tan. THE JUMPERS. Knmehameha (W. Rowe) and Plowning Bowl fW. Fielding) jumped four hurdles in good style. Elmestra (W. Fielding) jumped a couple of hurdles, but did not impress. Some Bother (E. Stanwa.v) outjumped Finmack (J. Puncheon) at every fenco in a bout over four hurdles. Some Bother gave a good exhibition. Archibald (C. Goodwin) went over two fences boldly and afterwards accomplished sound work. The Archiestown—Lady Waahi gelding made a good showing for a green one in a lesson over the pony hurdles. E. Stanway was in tho saddle. Mahgoloire (E. Stanway) jumped five hurdles without mistake. NOTES FROM THE TRACK. Nothing very strenuous has been exacted from Sulla recently. Tho , Lucullus gelding has been giving his trainer trouble for some time and exhibits lameness after working fast. Pepin is still having an easy time as a result of the injury he received to his, off hind leg when ho fell at the holiday carnival at Ellerslie. Tie is, now almost recovered and will soon bo at work again.
