PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allsop returned yesterday from a motor tour of the Soutli Island. Mr. J- J. Corry, of Blenheim, and Mr. H. C. Murray, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Major E. Vine, retired list, has been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces officers' decoration. Mr. W. W. Wilson, of Wellington, Mr. S- JLufft, of Sydney, and Mr. JvL Drummond and Mr. S. L. Green, of Hamilton, are at the Star Hotel. Archdeacon H. W. Williams, Mr. M. M. Williams, and Misses Z. and U. Williams, of Gisborno, and Mr, Heathcote Williams, of Hastings, aro at the Grand Hotel. Colonel A. R. Savlle, of London, Major M. A. Humphreys, of Ireland, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Turner, of Palmerston North, and Mr. R. Jamieson, of Dunedin, are at Stonehurst. Mr. W. T. Williams, of Hawke's Bay, Mr. A. H. Crawley, of Dunedin, ]\tr. T. E. Robson, of Christchurch, and Mr. E. Harding, of Dargaville, arc at the Central Hotel. Mr. C. J. Morton, Mr. A. H. Messenger and Mr. J. 0. Sullivan, of Wellington, Mr. R. Bond and Mr. S. Panl, of Hamilton, and Mr. V. L. Tiling-worth, 0 f Wanganui, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. F. S. Ballin, -who has been on a motor tour of the Dominion, accompanied by Mr. E. F. Burns, arrived back in Auckland yesterday. The travellers had a splendid time. Included in tho trip was a visit to the Dunedin Exhibition, of whcli they speak highly.
