PIONEER MISSIONARIES.
PA! HIA MEMORIAL CHURCH. CONSECRATION ON WEDNESDAY. THE WILLIAMS CENTENARY 4 Nearly 100 descendants of the pioneer missionaries, Archdeacon Henry Williams and Bishop William Williams, will gather at Paihia, North Auckland, on. Wednesday, to witness the consecration of the memorial church. Bishop Williams arrived in New Zealand in 1826, Archdeacon Henry Williams having landed three years earlier. The memorial church is built of stone quarried at the Bay of Islands. A room has been provided where documents of a histroic nature and relics relating to the mission work will be preserved. The fittings and decorations of the church are gifts of members of the family. The consecration ceremony will be conducted by Archbishop Averill and Archdeacon H. W. Williams will preach the opening sermon.
