GYE-BARNARD THEORY. RESEARCH COUNCIL'S COMMENT. Australian arid N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8.5 p.m.) ' LONDON. Jan. 21. The cancer research work of Dr. W. E. Gye and Mr. .T. E. Barnard is commented upon by the British Medical Research Council in its annual report. This savs:— "Dr. Gye and Mr. Barnard have transformed one outlook on the problem of the causation of cancer by suggesting that a filter-passing virus or an ultramicrobe is a common factor in malignant tumours, but is harmless without an adjuvant factor."
