FAINT COMET REPORTED.

NOTIFICATION TO SOCIETY. [by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION. J WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The New Zealand Astronomical Society has been notified by the International Bureau, Copenhagen, that a faint comet of magnitude 11 was discovered on January 16 at 22 hours. Its position on discovery was 12 hours 12 minutes right ascension and 30 degrees 11 minutes south declination. The comet is in line between the stars Gamma Corvus and Gamma Crucis, and is about one-third of the distance from Gamma Corvus.
