SEVERAL CAVES FOUND.

BEAUTY OF FORMATION.

A. and N.Z. ADELAIDE. Jan. 13. The discovery has been made of extensive caves of great beauty on Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia. A large hill was found to be literally honeycombed. Twelve caves have already been explored—one for half a mile without reaching the end. The hill is of limestone formation. The walls of the caves are coated with a beautiful, glittering formation of various colours. Bones and the footprints of animals and birds have Jaeen discovered. According to the explorers they saw animals disappear in one cave, into whidi a rope •was lowered. This was heavily tugged, and when withdrawn was found to have been bitten almost through.
