DEPUTATION TO LONDON.

f DEPARTURE FROM ROME. i i Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.5 p.m.) ROME, Jan. 18. Count Yolpi, Minister for Finance, Singor Granni, and others, have left Rome for London in connection .with tha war debt negotiations. An agreement between the United States and Italy was reached on November 12 under which the Italian Commissionevs agreed to a total debt of £408,400,000, and that payment is to be at the rate of £1,000,000 a year for the first five years, increasing after that period each year. In the settlement of her debt to the United States Italy was granted 62 years in which to repay' it. For five years there will bo no interest. The rate for the next 10 years will be one-eighth of one per cent., and the tate will then increase gradually to one per cent"., and remain so during the years 1970 to 1980. During the last seven years the rate will be two per cent.
