TRAVELLER FROM AUSTRALIA.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday.

James Reginald Revernall, a traveller, described as having arrived from Australia on December 7 and as being known to the police there, was charged in the Police Court with obtaining serge worth £32 from George and Doughty by a false pretence. He was not permitted to take the goods when ho ordered them, but later paid for them by cheque. The cheque was dishonoured, the man having opened on account in the bank and deposited £4 10s. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
