Dec. 22 An extraordinary scene occurred at the Spanish Customs House between Lalinea and Gibraltar, when 500 Spanish women, who were returning to Lalinea, were held tip in pouring rain for the purpose of a customs search.

The women protested strongly and, determined to force their way through the 'building, they stormed the barrier. The civic guards charged the women, many of them were wounded. Some were arrested and imprisoned. Others fled to Gibraltar.
