The stalls need only be \ trestles and boards, covered with white | calico or sheeting. In Plymouth, EngS land, there ls a most successful one. Also
j thej' are fotrad in nearly every tows on •( the Continent- It does not need lo be !an expensive building, bat one fairly j central and easily got at by the paMic. | There are many gardens here producing i more than the owners require, and others | would be glad to bey the overfiow fresh | from the gardens daily. The small farmer | has a great opening in the daily market. > He not only brings is pork, etc., hut I henev. home-made jams and jellies, all | fruits as they come in, mushrooms, eggs, ! better and Sewers, made up in hunches, j hares, rabbits, etc. Everything is ready )to take sway, and this is a big item, : because shopping is so quickly done. In i a daily market like this, there is no waste. I and no middle people to take a big ! t roOu The consumer is in direct teach l with the producer. The rental of the | stalls should be kept as small as prsI sible, allowing, of course, for expenses, i caretaker and interest on money, etc.. J*L€L
