| THE NEW PACIFIC MANAGER. i MR. PERCY HUNTER CHOSEN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.; LONDON, Dec. 00. i It is understood that the Commonwealth Government has approved of the appoint- | ment of Mr Percy Hunter, formerly I Commonwealth Director of Immigration in ! London, to the position of manager in Australia and New Zealand for the Pacific Cable, Board. The appointment, probably will be ratified at the next meeting of the board. Mr. John Milvvard, the Pacific Cable Board's manager in the Pacific and chief electrician, retired on pension in August, 1924, having reached the age of 60 years, at which retirement is compulsory in the board's service. Mr. Milward had occupied a prominent position in the service from the time the Pacific cable was opened in 1902. Since his departure from Australia, Mr. R. I. S. Bain, senior superintendent, has been acting as manager in the Pacific, while, following on the decision to separate the. two positions, Mr. G. G. Winkfield was appointed chief electrician.
