PRINCE FROM JAPAN.
AUCKLAND TO BE VISITED, CADET ON TRAINING SHIP. ARRIVAL ON FEBRUARY 26. His Imperial Highness Prince Hironobu Fushimi will visit the Dominion on the Iwate, a training ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, which will be in New Zealand waters in February. The Iwate is due, at Wellington from Sydney on February 18, and comes on to Auckland, arriving on February 26, and sailing for Suva on March 3. Prince Hironohu Fushimi belongs to a branch of the Imperial family of Japan. He is the third son of His Imperial Highness Prince Hiroyasu Fushimi, an admiral of the Japanese Navy, who, during the Great War, was attached to naval headquarters, arid was therefore one of those responsible for the movement of the Japanese naval forces in these waters. The young Prince's mother is a daughter of the last Shogun, the late Prince Yoshinobu Tokugawa, grandfather of the' present Consul-General in Sydney. In the present cruise of the Iwate it is not ex* pected that Prince Fushimi will ■be treated in any other way than entirely j n the capacity of a cadet.
