CHANCERY STREET BLOCK. PRICE ABOUT £470 A FOOT. A freehold block having 30ft. 9in. frontage to Chancery Street and 74ft. frontage to William Street, has been sold for £14,500. On the site is a new ferroconcrete building of three storeys known as Evan's Buildings. The purchasers are Messrs. Johns, Limited, sports prods merchants, who intend occupying the premises for their own business. The vendor is Mr. F. T. Evans, of Auckland, the sale being negotiated by Messrs. William .A. Home, Ltd. Taken as for the Chancery Street frontage the price works out- at about £470 a foot, although the modern character of the building and the long frontage to William Street have to be taken into consideration.
