KING'S SCHOOL BREAK-UP.
The breaking up of King's School took place yesterday afternoon in the school grounds, Eemuera Road, when there was a large attendance of parents and visitors. A blue sky and a brilliant sun graced the occasion, while the ' tall, graceful trees, with Rangitoto in bold relief against a pastel sky far out, and the school grounds vivid with flowers, made a beautiful setting for such a happy ceremony. The visitors were received by Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Smith, Mrs. Smith wearing a frock of rose crepe de chine, with touches of fawn, and close-fitting hat to match. After a gymnastic display by the boys, and a few delightful glees, terminated by the National Anthem, Mr. Clifton Smith read the year's report. This was followed by a sparkling address from Professor Algie, and Sir Robert Stout, after a wise little speech to the pupils, presented the prizes. Tea was served in the dining, room, the tables being arranged with bowls of mauve and pink sweet peas.
