ENGLAND AND IRELAND.
BOUNDARY AGREEMENT. DE VALERA'S INVECTIVE. VIEWS OF THE IRISH PEOPLE. GENEROSITY OF BRITAIN. Ry Telecraph—Press Association—Copyright A. and N.Z.—Renter—Sun. LONDON. Deo. C. The view taken by the Irish Republicans of the boundary agreement is expressed by their leader, Eanmnn de Yalera. He denounces (lie arrangement, and says:— I "After cheating the Irish in Article 12 j of the treaty of 1921. England, by the London agreement, has been graciously pleased to waive her claim to cheat them by Article 5. "The Nationalists of the North have been surrendered as Helots to our enemies without an attempt being made to safej guard a single interest., while England's ; pets in the South are to be privileged I and pampered." The Ulster Nationalists are pleased with the agreement, and it is expected that the 10 absentee Nationalists will now take their seats in the Parliament of Northern Ireland. So far only two have been sitting. ( Mr. Justice Feetham will receive an honour. Lord Carson expresses the opinion that Britain's action in foregoing the payments due by the Free State means a gift of £300,000,000 to the people of the Free State. The Observer says the Boundary Com- j mission can be called "the happiest mis- ! carriage in history." Its evil is in- j terred with its bones, and all the good it j has done lives after it.
