ANNIVERSARY REGATTA.

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. THE ELECTION OF OFFICIALS. A meeting of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta Committee was he'id last evening, Mr. B. W. Beaumont presiding over a largo attendance. The following officials were elected: — Start-er, sailing events, Mr. G. Mobberley; assistant-starters, Messrs. E. Griffiths, J. McGehan and 0. Johnson; judge, Mr. J. Longbottom; timekeepers, Messrs. E, S. Koiin and 0. Johnson; official recorder, Mr. A. Braund; result committee, Messrs. H. R. Arthur, A. Braund and G. E. Laycock; sailing committee, Messrs. G. Mackenzie, R. Lidgard, J. Garrett, 11. Dacre, A. Braund, J. Longbottom, W. Goodison, G. Miller, W. A. Wilkinson, A. F. Smith, A. Hodgson and J. C. Woodley; handicappers, A. and B classes, representatives of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron; C and E classes and all centreboard and open boat classes, representtives of the Ponsonby, Akarana, Victoria and Takapuna Clubs; motor boat officials: starter, Mr. E. L. Buchanan; assistant starter, Mr. W. D. Ross; judge, Mr. A. G- Lunn; timekeeper, Mr. A. M. Wilson; handicappers, Messrs. E. J. Kellv, W. D. Ross, E. L. Buchanan, W. Utting and W. A. Wilkinson; inspectors of cruisers, Messrs. A. Braund and G. Miller; racing committee, Messrs. C. H. T. Palmer, E. L. Buchanan, S. H. Ley land, W. A. Wilkinson and H. R. Arthur. Messrs. F. W. Jeffers, H. Hudson and H. R- Blott were elected members of the genera! committee. The question of doing away with fairplay men in the mullet boat classes caused a long discussion. Opinions were verv divided and on a vote- being taken it was decided to allow the boats to race without carrying fairplay men.
