A ONE-ARMED HERO. ' [by telegraph.—press association.] BLENHEIM. Sunday. In a contest for the Now Zealand featherweight. championship, and a nurse of £lO5. Lin Robinson, of Gisborae", the holder, secured a points verdict over Dick Vcrcoe, of Blenheim, the challenger. The fight went the full distance of IS rounds, arid roused the big audience to a rare pitch of enthusiasm. It subsequently- transpired that Vercoe broke the small bono in his right forearm in the fourth round, but said nothing of it until the conclusion of. the fight, and his pluck in practically battling; one handed for 11 rounds with the champion, and despite this making the fight a. fairly even one, has mdc him a popular hero.
