DOMESTIC INCIDENT.
LIQUOR WHILE PROHIBITED.
COURT DISMISSES CHARGE
A charge of procuring liquor while prohibited was denied by Robert Black (Mr. Gatenby) in tho Polica Court yesterday, before Mr. J. ! W. Povnton, S.M. Sergeant. Howell said ho was summoned to defendant's house at Devonport by a son-in-law, who complained that Black had made aggressive advances toward him. Witness heard defendant creating considerable noise and saw him long enough to form the opinion that ho had been drinking. The ;*->n-in-la\v said ho had summoned the police on the spur of tho moment and had thought that defendant perhaps had liquor in a bag which had been brought into tho house. The bag did not contain liquor, and upon reflection lie could not say that defendant had been under the influence of liquor. He now considered the argument was a family matter. The wife of defendant gave similar evidence, and said the bag which had apparently been under suspicion contained nothing more objectionable than fish and fireworks. She was sorry the police had been brought into what she considered was a domestic matter. Tho language her husband had used within hearing of Sergeant Roweli was not unusual. The case was dismissed.
