AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
Business in first-class securities on the Auckland sharemarkct was slack yesterday. Inquiry for Government stock was less general. Buyers of the 1930 issue of War Loan were 5s higher at £96 15s, while the 1938 issue was sought at the slightly lower figure of £OS 15s. Soldiers' Inscribed had inquiry at £99, 5s below Saturday's quotation. In debentures buyers of New Zealand Breweries fell off to 25s 3d, holders being steady at 265. In banks quotations were practically unchanged. New Zealands were steady at holders 575, buyers 56s 6d. In insurances inquiry for New Zealands whs at 36s Id, no holders quoting. Holders of South British were again higher at 51s, inquiry remaining at 49s 9d. In gas Aucklands had sale at 225, more being available at that figure, buyers a penny lower. Sales of the contributing issue were made at 6s 3d and 6s 4d. Closing quotations were holders 6s 6d, buyers 6s 4d. In miscellaneous lines New Zealand Breweries changed hands at the still higher figure of 61s, late holders asking 61s 6d, buyers 60s. In mining Kawaraiis were lower to sell at 5s lid and 5s lOd. At the final call, however, holders firmed to 6s 3d, with buyers at 6s. Rising Sun had sale at 6d and Zeehan at 2s 6d. Waihis were unchanged, holders being at 245, buyers 23s 10d. The following sales took place:-—Auck-land Gas, 225; Auckland Gas (con.), 6s 3d, 6s 4d; New Zealand Breweries, 61s; Kawarau, 5s lid, 5s lOd; Rising Sun, 6d; Zeehan, 2s 6d. CLOSING QUOTATIONS.
