AN ABANDONED BABY.
LEFT AT DOCTOR'S DOOR
"Please take care of this child, as its mother is penniless." This was written on a piece of notepaper and pinned to the clothing of a baby, about five weeks old. which was abandoned recently at the residence of Dr. Arthur Eady, of Vauclnse, Sydney. About 10.40 someone knocked 'at the front door. Dr. Eady opened the door and found the infant on a chair on the verandah. It was well nourished, and wore a white flannelette dress. Dr. Eady reported the case to the police, who are looking for the mother, who it is believed left the child on the verandah, and after knocking at the door rnn away. The baby was taken to the Infa.»:s' Homo.
