CHECKING AND SCRUTINY. OFFICIAL RECOUNT NEXT WEEK. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] WELLINGTON. Friday. The scrutiny and checking of the rolls | has commenced. It, is expected that in [ the city electorates this work will be com- | pleted to-morrow. The recounts will then |be commenced. In the country districts | however, where there is a difficulty in j collecting the ballot boxes, the recount will not commence until Mouthy. There have been no further figures from the three doubtful electorates— Lvttelton, Westland and Pahiatua—as the absent votes will not be counted until tho official recount is undertaken. Some days must thus pass before the definite decision | of tho people in these districts is known. | It is anticipated that the recount will be completed by November 11 or 13.
