JEWELS HIDDEN IN A WELL. At <lie castle of Prince von Fnerstenberg, near Salzburg, Austria, jewels of immense value had been stolen in the tnglil time. No trace of the thieves was found for several days, until finally the police suspected the Prince's valet and ordered a police dog to be put, on his scent. Foi lowing the scent the, dog ran to an >■;<> luted part of the park. Here in an old disused well under some boards the empty jewel box was found, hidden by the dishonest valet. His guilt proved by the four-legged detective, the valet was then uV'^sted.
