« Cheese.—The market is quiet. There is no New Zealand on hand. Official quotations are: English finest farmers (steady) : October 31, 140s to 145s per cwt. Canadian: Coloured and white: October 31, .117s to 118s.

Casein.—French rennet, £76; Argentine lactic, £46. Hemp.—Manila is easier. "J" grade November-January shipments are quoted at £4O 10s sellers. The New Zealand market is steady, with an improved demand for Iliglipoints. Parcels afloat New York have realised £4l 10s. There are sellers Highpoints October-December shipments at £39, fair £36, possible buyers 10s less. Buyers for common £34 10s, rejected £32 10s. Good business is reported for tow. No. 2 is now quoted at £26 and No. 3 at £24 10s buyers. Wool.—The Bradford market has a firm tone. Good' business has been done. Present quotations are:—64's (warp) Merino, 4s 7d; 64's (average), 4s 6d; 56's (super halfbred), 3s Id; 50's (halfbred), as 4d; 40's (prepared), Is lid. Oats.—Oats are meeting better inquiry. English are in good supply. Best white are quoted at 335, new spring white 30s; inferior quality down to 21s 6d: No. 2 white American clip sold at 22s 9d. The nominal value of New Zealand and Capetown Gartons is 31s ex store.

Peas.—Maple Partridge are steady, English making 555. Best Tasmanian selling at 82s 6d to 95s ex> store. New Zealand No. 1 are not offered on spot. September.Oclober shipments are offered at 755. Inquiry for Blue is not believed to have come from New Zealand or Tasmania, of which there are nominal values, £lB to £l9. Small business has been done with hand-picked Dutch at £2O. Beans.—The market is quiet but steady. English are selling at 45s to 50s; Chinese horse sold at £ll 5s ex store.

Cocksfoot.—Danish cocksfoot is quoted at 80s c.i.f. Copenhagen. No business.is reported. t

Tallow.—The spot market is quiet. There is nothing doing for shipmentPresent quotations are:—Mutton: Fine, 49s to 49s 6d per cwt.; fair to good, 44s to 48s; dark to dull, 40s to 41s. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 45s to 475; fair to good. 41s 6d to 44s 6d; dark to dull, 39s to 40s. Mixed: Fair to good, 41s to 445; dark to dull, 39s to 40s. Gut, etc.: 36s to 395.

Eggs.—-There are smaller arrivals and prices are higher for the best. There is steady demand for all kinds. BKADFORD TOPS,

On tho Bradford tops market firm prices are still maintained, but the tone is rather more quiet.

TALLOW. Tallow stocks total 8863 tons; imports, 3634 tons; deliveries 2248 tons, MARKET REPORTS. FRUIT AND PRODUCE. Fruit was in medium supply at tho Auckland city markets .yesterday, and met with fair demand, prices accordingly being steady. Sydney oranges sold at the comparatively low rate of from 16s to 18s a case, but repacked bananas realised from 24s to 28s a case, and local passion fruit brought 16s to 17s a case. Strawberries were sold at from Is to 2s 6d a chip. Field produce was in fair supply and good demand, but the quality was not always good and moderate prices resultedSouthern potatoes, of poorer quality than usual, realised from 8s to 10s per cwt. Large and specially-graded new potatoes realised from 2d to. 2£d per lb., while others brought from Id to Ifd. Celery was of very poor quality again and met with little demand. Late rates ruled for beans and peas. Eggs were firm at late rates and. farmers' butter sold only slightly better than last vneek, when values* were very low.
