OLD FELT HATS.
Such cosy little shoes can be made for baby out of old felt hats. The pattern can be taken from a discarded shoe, and can be easily made up on the machine. A gay pompom from scraps of wool gleaned from the work-basket complete these useful little slippers, which are very- warm and wear quite a long time.
Trie small cuttings need not be wasted either, as there are innumerable uses for little pieces of felt. The larger bits, doubled over with some plate polish between,'make excellent knife cleaners, and the tiny pieces make washers for taps, etc. Small bits of felt glued on the bottom of chair legs make them easier to move and [ire vent, the scratching of polished linoleum; and a piece nailed on the top or bottom of the door-lintel does away with the noise of banging doors.
