OVERTAXED CHILDREN.

SENT TO SCHOOL TOO SOON. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Oct. SI. Dr. Savage, a surgeon at St. Baitholomew's Hospital, expresses the opinion that a child of five years of age, is too young to commence attending school. The brain of a young child Ms not in a condition to learn until it is seven years old, he says. Children were often overtaxed. This accounted for much trouble. Dr. Savage said he would refuse to allow a child to attend school until it was seven years old, even if the authorities had fixed the age at five years.
