FURTHERING IMMIGRATION.
CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE. DOMINION-WIDE ORGANISATION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. A conference of ' representatives of chambers of commerce was held in Hamilton .to consider proposals for the furtherance of immigration to New Zealand. The meeting approved of the steps taken by a recent conference convened by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce to form an organisation, with branches throughout New Zealand, whose objects were to foster immigration and to watch the interests of immigrants after their arrival in New Zealand. ft-was agreed to find the Waikato's quota of £3O toward the cost of the scheme. Members felt that as soon as the elections were over steps should. be taken to impress on the Government the need tor stimulating immigration.
