TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
THE TOURING AUSTRALIANS. TO PLAY AT WELLINGTON. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON, Thursday. A wireless communication has been received by the chairman of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, Mr. M. Denniston, from J. O. Anderson and the Australian lady tennis players, who are returning on the Tahiti from a world tour, to the effect that they will willingly take part in an invitation tournament 'next Tuesday. Arrangements are now definitely in hand.
Three of the Australian ladies will take part, Miss Akhurst, Miss Boyd and Mrs. Harpur. Anderson has also intimated his intention to play. A number of prominent New Zealand players have already informed the New Zealand Association that they will take part in the tournament. Anderson will play a match against Ollivier, and possibly against Andrews, of Palmerston North, while a doubles match is also hoped for, in which J. C. Peacock will take part with the other three players mentioned.
