VIVACITY WINS.
No girl, however plain, if she has real vivacity, can ever be boring, but on the other hand the prettiest girl in the world, if she is mentally sluggish and slow in movements and outlook, can rival even the finest bore in any Pall Mall mausoleum.
The old adage that a girl is as young as she looks, is untrue, for a girl is as young as she thinks. If you think you are old, vou are old, and if you think you are slow, you are slow. Similarly, convince yourself that you are young and sprightly and vivacious, and the wish will be father to the thought, and you will be as you imagine yourself. ■ So many girls to-day are inclined to let things slide. They get up in the morning and say to themselves: "Oh, well, it's just another day," and they go through the day's work in the lackadaisical, slipshod fashion prompted by this idea, whereas the young woman who is known among her friends as a lively and healthy spirit jumps out of bed full of vitality and energy, attacks her day's work like the voracious young creature she is, and brings smiles into the surroundings of all with whom she comes in contact.
