DESTRUCTION ALLEGED.

A BURNED MOTOR-LORRY. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] GISBORNE.* Thursday. Three men, Reginald E. Clarke, Thomas Hyde and Frederick Averkieff, appeared before Mr. E. C. Levy, S.M., to-day, charged with the theft of 20 gallons of benzine, valued at £3 10s, the property of the New Zealand Government. They were further charged with committing mischief by wilfully setting fire to a motor-lorry, the property of the Government, causing damage to the extent of £300.' Detective McLeod applied for a remand until Monday. The remand was granted, .bail being allowed in the sum of £IOO each, with sureties.
