ANTARCTIC EXPLORER.
CAPTAIN Wl LKI IMS' FUNDS. AUSTRALIAN AID NEEDED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 20. In connection with the forthcoming Antarctic expedition of Captain Wilkins, the explorer lias received generous support from Mr. W. B. Robinson and Mr. H. B. Howard Smith. He is now anxiously awaiting available funds from the Geograhpical Society at Adelaide to enable him to complete the purchase of Captain Roald Amundsen's aeroplane, N25, on Thursday. If this plan fails to mature Captair Wilkins will be forced to try later to buy a new machine. This would entail an additional cost of at least £SOOO.
