WORKERS' COMPENSATION.

CLERGY SHOWING INTEREST. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] DUNRDTN, Thursday, A motion was moved in the Diocesan Synod by the Rev. If. O. Fen ton as fol-lows:—-"That a committee be appointed to consider the position of the clergy with regard to the Workers' Compensation Act and report to the synod." Mr. Fenton remarked, that he thought the text would be regarded as a joke, but it was in reality no joke. He mentioned that the widow of a minister who had met with a fatal accident in active work had received the rate paid under the Act, £750. The motion was earned.
