TREATY WITH RUSSIA.
GERMANS NOT IMPRESSED. REGARDED AS ONE-SIDED. Times. LONDON. Oct 11. The Berlin correspondent of the Times says the enthusiasm of the Soviet over the signing of the Russo-German trade treaty finds little echo in Germany. There it is regarded as a one-sided document which the Government- approved on the eve of the Locarno pact conference as proof that Germany did not intend to injure German relations. The correspondent says nobody pretends that the treaty is not much more favourable to Russia than it is to Germany. So far as the terms are known, it is received with a shrug of the shoulders. It was completed hastily for political purposes, and its best provision is considered to be that which limits its duration to two years. The treaty in no way bridges the enormous gulf which separates the economic systems of the two countries.
