Threatening weather did not debar a pood attendance of parents and. friends 'assembling for the Whangarei High . School sports this afternoon. The gathering was held for the first time on a playing area destined to become, one 01 the finest schools sports fields in New Zealand or Australia The track was well prepared and in good order, and as a result the times recorded were good Several school records were equalled or excelled. In the senior championship It. 'Filly tied with R. V>. Mcßae. last year's champion, but failed to quality in standard time in the. mile, thus failing to secure the championship H. .itowe had an easy win in the junior championship.
