PICTURE FOR WAIPA CLUB. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. A framed enlargement of the Te -V.varr. utuowned gelding Te Kara is to be presented to the Waipa jßacing Club by Mr. M. .11. Inns, the owner. The picture is an excellent one, and shows the late Jack O'Shea mounted. Beneath the photograph are particulars ot Te Kara's most notable wins, including a dead-heat and a straight-out win m the AueJdand Cups, of 1924 and 3925, the liutersail's Cup (New South Wales), and the Brisbane Cup (Queensland). The club is proud of ihe gift, which will be hung in the offices at the Fanners' Institute. THE TURF IN ENGLAND. NEWMARKET MEETING. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Oct. 14. A number of racehorses that have. carried His Majesty's colours were submitted to auction at Newmarket to-day, and the five that were Quitted .realised the sum of 2140 guineas. „ , , , , , Mr. J. B. Eeid, of New Zealand, bought Weathervane, for G2O guineas. Mr. P. Connolly bought a Ivockiuiit-biy Mary colt for SGO guineas. Weathervane, the horse bought by Mr. «T. B. Keid, is a six-year-okl descendant oi the Derby winner Lemberg. The last or plan ce registered by Weathervane was tne Royal Hunt Cup of 1923, in which he beat a field of 24. Mr. Reid h;is no doubt purchased Weathervano with a view to his use as a sire, rather than as a racer. TRAINING NOTES. CAULFiELD AND FLEMiNGTON. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, Oct, 15.
